Step 1: Lot Location
To start your custom home building process, you will select a lot for your future home. Nu-Era Construction is currently building in two neighborhoods in the Chattanooga area. The Farm is a new development in Soddy Daisy with craftsman style homes, as well as a future community pool. Located 5-7 +/- minutes to Hwy 27, and near public lake access, marinas, Steve's Landing, Dayton, and Chattanooga. The second neighborhood that Nu-Era Construction is building in Barnsley Park is one of the newest subdivision in the Ooltewah/Collegedale area. A quick trip down I24 can have you in Downtown Chattanooga in under 25 minutes. This development has some delightful amenities, such as a community pool, sidewalks, streetlights, and a scenic view.
Step 2: Select Your Floor Plan
At Nu-Era Construction, our team specializes in designing home plans to your specifications. This allows you to control the sizes of the rooms, the location of the kitchen, and the overall floorplan of the house. Not up for controlling the complete design or need ideas? You can also take a look at the house plans that we already have in place. We display some of the most popular ones and this can give you a good basis for coming up with what you want your home to look like.
Step 3: Develop Your Custom Home Plan
At Nu-Era Construction, we take the time to listen to our homeowners and believe that communication is key. Our initial meetings will involve discussing your goals, ideas, and wishes. Together, we will determine your priorities and your visions of your future custom home.
Step 4: Meet Our Interior Designer
When building a custom home, the many decisions that must be made can be overwhelming. Savannah Nelson, our in-house interior designer, will work with you hand-in-hand to walk you through each step of the design process. Unlike the majority of custom home builders, our standard finishes are what most builders charge you to upgrade. Step 5: Walkthroughs for Confidence & Clarity
From start to finish, we will be in constant communication with you throughout the process. With customer satisfaction in mind, Nu-Era Construction does two main walk-throughs. First, customers will do a pre-electrical walk through. During this process, the homeowners will walk through their custom home with the builder and discuss where lighting fixtures, outlets, and switches will go. The next significant walk through will be the pre-closing walk through. This time provides an opportunity for the homeowners to learn how the home works and to spot items that need to be corrected or adjusted.
Step 6: Move-In Day!
After months of planning and construction, it's finally time to take the keys to your custom house and start making memories. After closing on the property and officially becoming a homeowner, it's time to start enjoying all of the personalized touches that make it yours.
